First, we gather data. Telemarketing prospecting is not the only way we can collect information, but it can be one of the most effective. When searching for prospective members or new sponsors, it helps to establish rapport with the correct information on file.
We often start with a prospecting list made up of all data points of a given criteria – all of your members, vendors or other stakesholders. Then, through member segmentation we organize that list by further criteria – for example, geographic location, size of the company or where that customer is in the sales cycle.
Finally, when the data is sorted, you are left with a clean list of strong leads that you can pass on to your membership department for handling, plus a list of longer-term prospects requiring additional information and nurturing.
